Ottawa Valley Associated Railroaders
Celebrating 50 years of railroading!

Tom Badenoch’s
Northern Pontiac Railway

This layout depicts a branch line operation serving several primary industries: mining, lumbering and quarrying.  An urban/industrial area now in development is the focus of the branch.  The branchline is operational, hardshell scenery depicting the rugged Pontiac countryside is in place and structures for many of the industries and supporting infrastructure have appeared.

The layout started out as a simple but solid trackplan on a 4 x 8 foot table, as time went on and both Tom’s skills and interest grew, so did the layout, expanding from its solid foundation in several stages.  Along the way operation, scenery, structures and rolling stock have all developed to where they stand now.

This is a good example of a layout which has evolved logically and progressively as the interest and abilities of the owner have expanded with time.
